Taylor-Swift
Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who has achieved great success with the tales that she shares about her childhood heartbreak. Swift was a fan of music since a young stage of her life. She swiftly rose through in the ranks, beginning with roles in children's theater and eventually singing in front of a huge crowd. She was age 11 when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game and the following year she began playing guitar and began writing songs. Drawing inspiration from musicians from the country genre like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original songs that were a reflection of her own experiences of growing up in a world that was dominated by tweens. Swift was 13 when her parents decided to sell their Pennsylvania farm and move to Hendersonville Tennessee. She could then devote all of her efforts to contacting label labels from the country scene in Nashville.
